Salome is a biblical figure who was the wife of Zebedee and the mother of James and John, disciples of Jesus. The name Salome is derived from the Hebrew word for “peace”. Salome was one of the women who asked Jesus to seat her two sons at His side in heaven and who followed Him during His crucifixion and resurrection.
